Thanks to the International Cooperation of organisms such as free Wheelchair Mission and Mobility Worldwide, la Junta de Beneficencia de Guayaquil delivered, free of charge, 23 wheelchairs, 6 mechanically propelled PET cars and three walkers to a total of 32 persons who suffer different congenital or acquired pathologies which limit their motor ability and who reside in the Nobol Canton, of the Guayas Province.

One of those beneficiaries was Roy Cercado who arrived with Jenny Caicedo, his mother, from Daule. He has a third grade spastic condition as a result of a traffic accident three years ago while traveling in a tricycle. His mother pointed out that the mechanically propelled vehicle he received from la Junta de Beneficencia will help Roy recover some independence and move around on his own means. “It’s something he always wanted and I know it will increase his self-esteem”, she pointed out.

The delivery ceremony for the technical aids was performed in the audio-visual room of the Record House of the Narcisa de Jesus Sanctuary in Nobol

For the Santa Narcisa de Jesus Sanctuary Rector, Father Stanley Henriques, La Junta de Beneficencia does great work first on a local level, then nationally. “When one receives assistance such as this the only thing left to say is thanks” he pointed out.

In the course of 2019 la Junta de Beneficencia de Guayaquil has improved the quality of life of 950 persons in the entire country through the free-of-charge delivery of different technical aids.
