JBG RECEIVES SUPPORT FROM THE MUNICIPALITY OF GUAYAQUIL

E1REHY5d4kts9wThanks to the support of the Municipality of Guayaquil, Junta de Beneficencia de Guayaquil received important donations to be able to help who
attend its dependencies.


In this context, Luis Vernaza Hospital received, through the Health and Hygiene Directorate of the Municipality of Guayaquil, 10,000 hydroxychloroquine tablets and 2,160 2.5 mg methotrexate tablets, for patients’consultations of rheumatology and lupus.

Mario Moreno Head of the Hospital’s Rheumatology Service received the donation and specified that there is no lupus treatment in the world that does not use hydroxychloroquine. "The treatment is very extensive, there are patients who take this medication between 20 and 30 years, because it is an excellent medicine. The only care we must have, is make a cardiovascular control, as well as a periodic ophthalmological examination, because it can cause discomfort in the retina " he said.

On the other hand, the Directorate of Social Action and Education of the Municipality -DASE-, donated 230 units of Newborn Kits to the Alfredo Paulson Hospital, each containing a diaper package with 10 Babysec units, 1 package of wet wipes, 1 Nutrilón liquid milk, and a baby shampoo.

Jorge Aycaturri, Director of DASE, said that in addition to the Kits, 500 pairs of gloves, 30 protective glasses, and 30 anti-fluid gowns that will be used by the personnel of this unit were given. The donation was received by Dr. Iván Altamirano, Technical Director of Alfred Paulson Hospital.
