Paraplegic receives a donation of 20 wheelchairs

A total of twenty persons belonging to the Hemiplegic, Paraplegic and Quadriplegic Associations in Guayas, received the same number of folding wheelchairs, thanks to a strategic alliance between La Junta de Beneficencia de Guayaquil (JBG) and the Jesus Crist Church of Latter Day Saints.

Betsabè Pilaloa, Asoplegic President, thanked those who made the delivery possible in the name of beneficiaries, “We knocked on a lot of doors, several steps were taken. However, those who responded in a timely fashion were these two Institution who joined efforts and made the wishes of several disabled persons come true”, she manifested.

Eng. Eduardo Romero, Foreign Relations Deputy Inspector, and donations manager for the JBG pointed out that the delivery's objective is to improve beneficiaries' quality of life and improve their mobility so they can enter a much more independent social life.

The solidary work of la Junta has been going on in a constant manner, not just with the wheelchair delivery, but with Pet car deliveries, as well as crutches, walkers and other implements essential to improve the mobility of disabled people.
