On this occasion, 21 persons received wheelchairs free-of-charge thanks to coordinated efforts from La Junta de Beneficencia de Guayaquil and the Jesus Christ Church of Latter Day Saints.

One of the beneficiaries was Wilson Alvarado who, two months ago, fell from a height of 7 meters while painting a house and who has fractured his right femur and left kneecap. “This recovery will take its time, but I need a wheelchair to attend to my appointments”, he pointed out.

Ten year-old Adriana was another beneficiary who was born with infantile brain paralysis. José Millàn, her father joyfully commented that the wheelchair received will improve present family dynamics. “This chair will be quite useful for us, which is why I am very grateful to those institutions which have helped us”, he manifested.

If you have a family member who needs a wheelchair you can approach the La Junta de Beneficencia offices (located on Velez 109 and Pedro Carbo streets, External Relations Department on the 3rd floor) and request a free-of-charge application form.
