Wheelchairs improve the quality of life of people in Palenque

Beneficiaries on wheelchairsTogether with the Free Wheelchair Mission Nortamerican Organization, La Junta de Beneficencia de Guayaquil continues to deliver wheelchairs free of charge to persons of scarce means. On this occasion its social endeavors reached the Palenque Canton in the Los Rios Province.

 

The visit attended requirements from the Organized Mutual Association of support for the disabled (Amor “D”) and the Canton Assembly for GAD Municipal rights and the delivery of 12 wheelchairs.

One of the beneficiaries was Bertha Ochoa Chiriguayo. Her son suffers cerebral paralysis due to cerebral hypoxia. She pointed out it is the second time The Junta extends its help and thanked all those Institutions which made it possible for her son and others from her Canton to count on a chair according to their needs.

William Ibarra, Deputy Mayor from the Canton recognized the importance of the help extended by La Junta de Beneficencia de Guayaquil on a national level which is a reflection of the work performed day by day in the different areas. “Now Palenque has been favored through Eng. Eduardo Romero, a member of the Institution, to help these people stricken with disability”, he pointed out.

Delivery occurred at the “José Gregorio Jones” Physical Rehabilitation Center. During the ceremony authorities from La Junta de Beneficencia, the Amor “D” Association and the Municipal gad were present besides medical physiatrists from the Guayaquil entity who had previously conducted evaluations and delivered recomendations to each beneficiary.
