Nestor RodriguezEighty-seven year old Nestor Rodriguez arrived from his native Azogues 15 months ago to reside at La Junta de Beneficencia de Guayaquil Corazon de Jesus home where he spends time doing what he likes.

"Ever since I was in school I enjoyed drawing and painting, but since I had to work from early on, I was unable to pursue my love for painting", he said.

Now he is enjoying the joy and well-being that life at the Corazon de Jesus Home, from our Institution, has bestowed on him. He has participated in theater plays, tai chi, yoga but above all, he enjoys painting whatever pops into his mind

"At the Corazon de Jesus Home we perform several activities whereby i prefer to draw in the morning and then attend the different workshops next to my comrades. Later on, during the afternoon, I enjoy walking the home´s gardens", he commented.

One of his recent drawings is the Junta de Beneficencia de Guayaquil´s logo. "I saw this drawing in several places but I noticed it was also on the bedsheets. I liked the meaning and I drew it", commented Nestor. "There is a relation between La Junta de Beneficencia´s logo with the Institution. It is a mother´s love taking care of a sick son", he softly asserted.

Nestor just needs a sheet of paper, a pencil and coloring pencils to make his dream come true. These materials have been supplied by the Corazon de Jesus Home from our Institution and further on he would like to do water colors.
