The covenant's objective is to increase knowledge and the academic level of students at a Masters degree level in Biomedic Engineering at the Escuela Politecnica del Litoral (ESPOL) through practice at the Roberto Gilbert Children's Hospital, the Luis Vernaza Hospital, The Neurosciences Institute and the Alfredo G Paulson Woman's Hospital belonging to La Junta de Beneficencia de Guayaquil.
The Biomedical Engineering (MIB) Masters Degree Program is a new course of studies being developed by the electricity and computers faculty (FIEC) at the ESPOL, however it is necessary that students be acquainted with the health sector, specifically top-flight Hospitals such as those belonging to la Junta de Beneficencia de Guayaquil.
Eng. Miguel Yapur, Engineering Faculty Dean for the electricity and computers faculty at ESPOL stressed the training these professional people will receive through this cooperative agreement. “We want to contribute in an efficient way to the technological upkeep of medical equipment and accessories related to caring for the patient's life”, he pointed out.
