When she found our she was going to have triplets Xiomara Espinoza did not hesitate in doing so at the “Alfredo G. Paulson” Women’s Hospital. She had her first child at the former Enrique Sotomayor Maternity Hospital which gave her assurance as to the attention she would receive in multiple childbirth.
“This Hospital is specialized and gives me assurance whereby its doctors and equipment are the best. Here the doctors were watchful of controlling my high-risk pregnancy which allowed my babies and I to come out successfully. My husband and I are grateful for the attention we have received”, said the young mother to Anita, Sol, and Juan Jose who are already 2 months old.
They are part of the 12.900 childbirths registered up to August 15th at the women`s Hospital. Hospital statistics point out that during the first year of extending integral health care to women, over 18.900 patients have been hospitalized, 29 thousand patients have been attended in emergency and over 100 gynecological medical consultations have taken place in day care where 16 specialties are handled.
Dr. Francisco Eguez, Hospital Technical Director, recalled during the first anniversary press conference that the Women`s Hospital, together with the Roberto Gilbert Pediatric Hospital have the largest Maternal-Infantile coverage in Ecuador and is a point of reference on a national and regional level allowing integral attention to mother and child and obviously capable of attending cases of greater complexity.
The event was propitious for enjoying a beautiful family moment for those who participated in the holy mass and the release of colored balloons they sent to the heavens bearing several messages to their loved ones.
