Luis Felipe Maldonado, 85 years-old, from the Dorado sector was one of the beneficiaries. His daughter Yolanda Maldonado came to take the chair away since her father is suffering from a vertebrae 3 and 4 fracture in the lumbar region of the spinal column for the past 40 years. “I am from Quito and I arrived in Puyo a year ago. I have knocked on many doors to secure a wheelchair and today I have obtained it”, she pointed out excitedly during the wheelchair delivery, as well as other implements of mobility that la Junta de Beneficencia de Guayaquil delivered in the Province of Pastaza in coordination with the Jesus Christ church of latter day Saints..

On this occasion 50 persons afflicted with mobility problems and scant economic resources from the amazon region benefitted free of change with the delivery of 35 wheelchairs, 5 canes, 2 walking canes and 8 crutches

Another beneficiary was 47-year-old Galo Aguirre Freire. He mentions that 25 years ago, while working as a farmer in the mountain, a tree branch fell on his spinal column leaving his legs immobile. “Today I thank la Junta de Beneficencia for coming to help us with new chairs because the ones we have are already old, he pointed out.

Delivery was performed in coordination with the Pastaza Provincial Patronage, through Bachelor Jessi Engelmann who pointed out that “We summoned the community in general, and here we have the beneficiaries, all citizens from different locations within the province, among them the Canelos sector, Diez de Agosto, Fatima, Montalvo, Pomona, Rio Corrientes, Rio Tigre, Sarayacu, Simon Bolivar, and Dorado”; as Engelmann pointed out.

On his own behalf, Hector Ullauri, Head of Logistic and donations distribution for la Junta de Beneficencia de Guayaquil mentioned that these deliveries are possible thanks to International Organizations that trust the performance of the Guayaquil Institution as in this case the Jesus Christ Church of latter Day Saints that entrust these types of goods to the Junta so that they be delivered throughout Ecuadorian Territory.

This event occurred in the city of Puyo in the School of Engineers' installations with the presence of beneficiaries, authorities from the Pastaza Province, the Provincial Patronage and representatives of La Junta de Beneficencia de Guayaquil.
