A feeling of happiness and gratitude overcame Carmita Enith from the lower San Vicente sector in Loja after receiving a wheelchair as a donation for her daughter 27 year-old Rosa Paz who has cerebral paralysis and hips dislocation. “I thank God and La Junta de Beneficencia for the kind donation. There are no words to express so much goodness”, pointed out Carmita.
Another beneficiary was Rosita Armijos. Her eleven-year-old son has cerebral paralysis and she did not have the money to buy another chair and take him to therapies.
They were part of the 87 beneficiaries from the 74 wheelchair and 13 mechanically driven PET cars donation from la Junta de Beneficencia de Guayaquil in coordination with Free Wheelchair Mission and Mobility Worldwide, all International Organizations, all given to the Loja Diocese.
Monsignor Alfredo Espinoza, Loja Diocese Bishop, pointed out that this donation will be part of the voluntary efforts of attending to sick persons in need at the 40 ecclesiastical parrishes in the Diocese and Social Security Hospitals, Isidro Ayora and Solca who attend to persons locally.
“The help extended by la Junta de Beneficencia is a solidary hand which will help our elderly and disabled. It is an effective show of solidarity”, he said.
Delivery took place in the “El Valle” San Juan Bautista Parrish in the presence of beneficiaries, family members, local and ecclesiastical authorities as well as from la Junta de Beneficencia de Guayaquil.
