As part of a continuous mobility implements delivery program la Junta de Beneficencia de Guayaquil delivered 10 postural wheelchairs, and 20 normal wheelchairs to persons with particular disabilities from different sectors of the city.
Graciela Pilay was one of the beneficiaries. She arrived from the Sergio Toral Cooperative in the northern part of the city, carrying her son in arms because she lacked a wheelchair. “It tires me out because he is growing and I must take him to appointments for which I thank God and all those who make it possible to help so many disabled persons”, Pilay pointed out.
Those favored with this free delivery come from vulnerable areas in our city: Prosperina, Trinitaria Island. Juan Montalvo Cooperative, Guasmos, Sergio Toral Cooperative, stricken with pathologies that limit their mobility such as Hydrocephalia, Microcephalia, Diabetes, Blindness, Hemiplegy, Amputations, Cerebral Paralysis, Paraplegies, Arthritis, etc.
Eduardo Romero, in representation of la Junta de Beneficencia de Guayaquil, pointed out that this delivery was aided by international entities such as the Jesus Christ Church of Latter Day Saints, Free Wheelchairs Mission and Partners of World Health. “In Wheelchair Mission and Partners of World Health. “In spite of the fact that the Institution is physically located in Guayaquil we try to reach the whole country with our help. This year we will cover Pichincha and the Oriental area” he pointed out.
