On this occasion, 43 persons from the sectors of Cristóbal Colón, Santa Rosa, January 10, Taura, Luz y Vida, Las Delicias and other rural areas of Naranjal County in the Guayas Province; received 25 all-terrain wheelchairs, 14 canes, 4 walkers, and a batch of medical supplies for physical therapy, from Junta de Beneficencia de Guayaquil - JBG - through Naranjal’s Central Autonomous Government – GAD - .
One of the beneficiaries, was Zoila Tigre who, since the beginning of this year, had been knocking doors of several organizations for a wheelchair that would allow her to carry out her activities and transportation to the dialysis she needs due to kidney failure.
On behalf of the Mayor, Luigi Rivera expressed his gratitude to Junta de Beneficencia de Guayaquil, highlighting the openness and solidarity that Junta de Beneficencia de Guayaquil has been displaying in Guayas Province for several years. "This is a sign that inter - institutional cooperation works, for it improves the quality of life and restores dignity to those who receive aid and also to their families," he said.
So far 2021, the social action of Junta de Beneficencia de Guayaquil, in coordination with the international cooperation of organizations such as Free Wheelchair Mission, and the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, has benefited 890 people with disabilities with donations of wheelchairs, canes, walkers, crutches, and medical supplies.
