The Donation Agreement signed by Juan Xavier Cordovez, President of Junta de Beneficencia de Guayaquil - JBG - and José Jouvín Vernaza, President of The Society Fighting Cancer - Solca- will benefit patients with cancer.
It is a donation 1,320 packages of Lubiprostone of 24 mcg; 450 packages of Lubiprostone of 8 mcg; and, 2,000 units of Albuterol Sulfate of 80mg (inhaler in aerosol form) used to treat collateral health problems as due to cancer. It will be given free of charge and as per medical prescription.
José Jouvín thanked the donation and said that it will be shared with 7 Solca branches in Ecuador in order to serve their patients, mainly those most in need.
Dr. Luis Sarrazín, Medical Auditor of Junta de Beneficencia de Guayaquil explained that these medicines, despite not being oncological, will serve, in the case of Lubiprostone, for colitis, constipation, colon irritation and other associated problems that generally suffer patients receiving chemotherapy.
This donation was made within the framework of the international cooperation that Junta de Beneficencia de Guayaquil maintains with the humanitarian organization Direct Relief International which has been collaborating for more than 10 years, donating medicine, technical aids, medical equipment and medical supplies which are donated nationwide Ecuador to people with limited economic resources, either directly to them or through foundations and social aid organizations.
