Luis Molineros from Manabí is single and 92 years old. In his youth he traveled to Guayaquil to work, due to a grave economic and family situation. Years went by and Luis became a senior citizen looking for a place to live which he found in the Hogar Corazón de Jesus, a place which opened its doors to him on June 4th of 1982.
Luis has a collaborative spirit. He likes to clean the tables in the dining room, set the coffee cups and help out in the kitchen. "I have enjoyed helping out in all I can", says Luis. His favorite pastime is to work a puzzle and go for a stroll.
"In all thirty three years of living at this home, I haven´t quarreled with employees. To fight with an employee is to fight a brother, a father. One needs them and they need you. At the Home I encountered something beyond a family, commented Luis.
"Mr. Molineros enjoyed washing clothes, folding colleagues' garments, helping to make the beds and companions, encouraging them but not because he was required to do so but rather he wanted to help in this way. Besides being a collaborative person, he would show us what he knew about building a New Year´s Eve mask with a balloon, newspapers and glue", commented Paul Hesny, home collaborator.
For Luis the kindness of Home collaborators remains intact since he arrived. His joyfulness allows for good relations with senior citizens and home residents with whom he has shared unforgettable moments.
