Junta de Beneficencia de Guayaquil, paid tribute to the Bicentennial of the Independence of the city and the Próceres de Octubre

The perfect setting was the Patrimonial Cemetery, where the remains of 8 heroes of the Independence of our city rest, among them José Joaquín de Olmedo, rest in peace. Present were the director of Junta de Beneficencia de Guayaquil Juan Xavier Cordovez, the vice- president of Ecuador Ms. María Alejandra Muñoz and other authorities of the city.

Immediately afterwards, the Constitutional President of the Republic, Lenín Moreno, joined the ceremony.

Juan Xavier Cordovez, highlighted the institutional relevance in the history of the city and its inhabitants, being one of the oldest and most emblematic institutions that has served the most in need. He also highlighted the fight against Covid, which, from our hospitals, has been was carried out. The words of the President of Ecuador evoked the greatness of the people of Guayaquil, their courage and strength, characteristics that identify them and that have been demonstrated today more than ever.
