As part of its continuous program to improve the living conditions of people in situations of vulnerability due to disability, JBG provided technical aids to three social aid institutions in Guayaquil, Santo Domingo and Pichincha.
One of them the Benemérita Sociedad Protectora de la Infancia - BSPI - , whose president Ricardo Koenig, pointed out that the aid received will benefit the patients who are treated at the León Becerra Hospital in Guayaquil. "Junta de Beneficencia de Guayaquil has always collaborated with other institutions which are also non- for- profit," said Koenig, who received 10 hospital beds, 5 wheelchairs, 3 walkers, medicine and medical supplies.
Damaris Arias, president of the Inclusive Health Foundation "A New Beginning" received 14 all-terrain wheelchairs that will be distributed to people living in different communities in the East and in the Province of Pichincha. Arias pointed out that this approach with the JBG will benefit people in need and people who live in the far sectors of the several indigenous communities. The Municipal Board of Social Inclusion of Santo Domingo de los Tsáchilas also received through its Director, Ms. Patricia Zambrano, medical supplies and medicine that will be delivered to vulnerable people in the canton and its peripheries.
Eduardo Romero Carbo, on behalf of JBG, pointed out that this aid program for people with disabilities is carried out thanks to the international cooperation of organizations such as Free Wheelchair Mission who trust in the work of JBG.
The donation of mobility aids and medical supplies was carried out at the facilities of the JBG logistics and distribution warehouse.
