DONATIONS SAVE LIVES AND IMPROVE THE QUALITY OF LIFE

"Save Lives", is a citizen initiative that seeks to raise funds to help the public and private health system, through its representatives, Eduardo Herdocia Pazos and Guido Chiriboga, who donated 60.000 infusion sets to Junta de Beneficencia de Guayaquil.


Héctor Ullauri, on behalf of Junta de Beneficencia de Guayaquil, thanked the important donation and said that it will allow to continue serving several citizens who attend the hospitals, not only in the Province of Guayas but also throughout the country.

On the other hand, the trust of the local and international cooperation of organizations such as Fybecca, Free Wheelchair Mission, Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Partners for World Health Foundation, allowed us to deliver to the Civic Board of Machalilla-Manabí a batch of drugs, and various technical aids.

In addition to the batch of medicines, the donation given by Junta de Beneficencia de Guayaquil included 17 wheelchairs, 11 canes, 14 walkers, 04 pairs of crutches, 15 diaper covers for children, 2,600 examination gloves, and 500 disposable masks.


Marcos Ciurliza, Executive President of the Civic Board, received the donation and indicated that it will be distributed to the neediest people in this rural parish of Puerto López, Province of Manabí. He also indicated that the aid of Junta de Beneficencia de Guayaquil towards this sector of the country has been carried out for more than 15 years.

MORE DONATIONS GIVEN TO JBG TO BENEFIT THE MOST VULNERABLE PEOPLE

webIMG 0468The gesture of solidarity from private companies and public institutions that trust in the work of Junta de Beneficencia de Guayaquil continues to be present through donations made to us in order to benefit the most vulnerable groups in the city.


The Directorate of Social Action and Education of the Municipality of Guayaquil donated to the girls of the Calderón Ayluardo Home, 92 units of toothbrushes, 200 packages of 16 sanitary napkins, 100 units of soap, and 45 600ml shampoo bottles.

The delivery was made by the Directors of DASE, Jorge Acayturri and Amalia Gallardo, Director and Deputy Director of the Directorate of Social Action and Education of the Municipality of Guayaquil, respectively.

On the other hand, OPERFEL, a national company dedicated to the manufacture and distribution of mass consumption products, donated a batch of 3609 units of wet wipes, that were distributed in the dependencies and in related social aid entities such as the Inés Chambers Home of the Child Protection Society, ASONIC, FUVIDA, Casa Cuna Foundation, Mercedes de Jesús Molina Shelter, Missionary Sisters of Charity “Mother Teresa of Calcutta”, and to Un Presente Diferente Foundation.

Viviana Muñoz, OPERFEL Marketing Manager, said that the company's commitment is with the community, which is why they are sure that Junta de Beneficencia de Guayaquil will be able to make the correct distribution to reach all the people who need it most.

JBG RECEIVES SUPPORT FROM THE MUNICIPALITY OF GUAYAQUIL

E1REHY5d4kts9wThanks to the support of the Municipality of Guayaquil, Junta de Beneficencia de Guayaquil received important donations to be able to help who
attend its dependencies.


In this context, Luis Vernaza Hospital received, through the Health and Hygiene Directorate of the Municipality of Guayaquil, 10,000 hydroxychloroquine tablets and 2,160 2.5 mg methotrexate tablets, for patients’consultations of rheumatology and lupus.

Mario Moreno Head of the Hospital’s Rheumatology Service received the donation and specified that there is no lupus treatment in the world that does not use hydroxychloroquine. "The treatment is very extensive, there are patients who take this medication between 20 and 30 years, because it is an excellent medicine. The only care we must have, is make a cardiovascular control, as well as a periodic ophthalmological examination, because it can cause discomfort in the retina " he said.

On the other hand, the Directorate of Social Action and Education of the Municipality -DASE-, donated 230 units of Newborn Kits to the Alfredo Paulson Hospital, each containing a diaper package with 10 Babysec units, 1 package of wet wipes, 1 Nutrilón liquid milk, and a baby shampoo.

Jorge Aycaturri, Director of DASE, said that in addition to the Kits, 500 pairs of gloves, 30 protective glasses, and 30 anti-fluid gowns that will be used by the personnel of this unit were given. The donation was received by Dr. Iván Altamirano, Technical Director of Alfred Paulson Hospital.

Para atender la necesidad y demanda de la población, la Junta de Beneficencia de Guayaquil abrió en el Hospital Alfredo Paulson un punto de atención para realizar tomas de muestra para pruebas cuantitativa de anticuerpos en sangre y del virus Sars Cov 2, mediante la técnica de biología molecular en el hisopado nasofaríngeo (PCR). Este servicio cuenta con la debida certificación del MSP y las pruebas son realizadas en equipos de última tecnología, innovación y automatizados, que garantizan los resultados de las mismas.
