IMG 8383webSince the first cases of Covid-19 were presented in the city of Guayaquil, the hospitals of Junta de Beneficencia de Guayaquil have been working tirelessly, treating not only their regular patients, but also those with symptoms of the disease. Ernesto Noboa, director of the entity, confirmed “from March 13 to May 18, Luis Vernaza hospital treated 2,574 patients with coronavirus symptoms, while, in that same period, 998 were born at the Alfredo Paulson hospital kids".

FROM JUNTA DE BENEFICENCIA DE GUAYAQUIL TO ECUADORIAN CITIZENS

Faced with the health emergency situation that the country is experiencing due to the global COVID-19 pandemic, JBG, which has provided medical and hospital care for 132 years with its hospital units located in Guayaquil, the most affected city due to the pandemic, it has allocated all available resources to face the health crisis, but, unfortunately, the demand for COVID-19 cases has overwhelmed us, as has happened in all hospital systems in the world where it has occurred this terrible disease.

We are pleased to see that we are not alone, because the Guayaquil solidarity, once again, is present to announce an upcoming donation of two new definitive diagnostic kits, which will allow us to carry out molecular analysis to determine the presence of COVID-19, together with 4,500 kits to perform the tests. But, despite this very important donation, which certainly constitutes an enormous hope for everyone, it will not be enough and we will need to complement it, in the very short term, with the acquisition of many more kits to carry out the tests. We also require medical supplies and medicines along with personal protective equipment to also safeguard the health of our health personnel.

Unfortunately, meeting all these necessary requirements has exceeded our financial capacity and therefore we urge the solidarity of Ecuadorians, entrepreneurs, microentrepreneurs and other organizations with economic and social activities, to make their donations to the current account No. 5229718 of Banco Bolivariano on behalf of the JBG. Rest assured that these funds will be handled with absolute responsibility, honesty and transparency and that your contributions will help to alleviate this health catastrophe that threatens us relentlessly and from which only by joining efforts will we succeed.

RECREATIONAL CENTER OF JUNTA DE BENEFICENCIA DE GUAYAQUIL INAUGURATES ITS EIGHTH VACATION TERM

The presence of 42 registered children, the opening of the Vacacional 2020 organized by the Recreational and Sports Center of Junta de Beneficencia de Guayaquil

Jhon Cano, Administrator (e) of the center, highlighted that one of the strengths of the vacationers they take is that the instructors are specialized in different areas such as: music, art, swimming, football, leadership, water polo, first aid, ecological gardens.

The opening ceremony was attended by parents who watched their children begin to acquire other social skills and develop more independence.
